A month after the introduction of the Arizona Teacher Residency, an initiative through the Arizona K12 Center at Northern Arizona University supported by the Arizona Department of Education, the Arizona K12 Center is announcing partner school districts and the opening of the application for residents for the 2022-2023 school year.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman, the Arizona Department of Education and Northern Arizona University announced today the creation of the Arizona Teacher Residency, a first-of-its-kind graduate program in Arizona modeled after medical residencies, to help recruit, prepare, support and retain K-12 teachers.

After enrollment declines in school year 2020/2021, Arizona’s public-school student count numbers are showing signs of rebounding, thanks in part to the Arizona Department of Education’s efforts to reach students and families and to efforts made by schools at the local level.

The Arizona Department of Education’s Health and Nutrition Services Team is excited to announce a brand-new program, “Creating Your Kitchen” to support schools in their work to exceed standards, and provide their students with healthy, nutritious meals.
