2021 College Decision Day: Senior Spotlight

Hello, my name is Ahtziri Gonzalez, and I am proud to say that I will be going to the same college that Steph Curry graduated from Davidson College, in North Carolina.
Unlike Curry, I will be cooking up A’s at Davidson instead of three-pointers. My dream of going to college out of state was made possible by the wonderful people at the Posse Foundation, which gave me a full-tuition scholarship to attend. I also want to thank Be A Leader Foundation and my high school counselor at Maryvale High School for giving me the information and support I needed to succeed as an aspiring first-generation college student.
At Davidson, I plan to study biology and possibly minor in political science, because I am curious about how politics affects science (like with STEM cell research). I have also been accepted to the Bonner Scholars Program at Davidson, where I will be able to invest in long-term community service projects tied to my academic pursuits. I am excited to be the first one in my family to graduate from college!
