2021 College Decision Day: Senior Spotlight

Hello, my name is Giselle Sanchez, and I am going to South Mountain Community College next year, where I will be enrolled in the Bilingual Nursing Program, which will train me to become a full Registered Nurse (RN). I am excited to be able to work on healing people and making them feel better. 

I know personally how difficult not feeling good health-wise can be for not just the person affected, but the person's entire family. Although I never experienced major illness growing up, so many of my family members did, and I was always deeply touched during my hospital visits when I would see nurses putting smiles on everyone's faces, not just the patients. I want to do the same for others, and provide them a little joy in a difficult place -- no one WANTS to be at the hospital. 

My counselor at Central High School and the Senior Boot Camp Program of the Be A Leader Foundation were both a big part of helping me figure out my college and career. I did not know what to do when the school year started, and now I am on the path to being a full medical professional!
