This School Finance Hot Topic applies to all school districts that already uploaded a regular FY 2020 AFR file.
On 10/21/2020, an error in the internal property of the regular FY 2020 school district AFR file was discovered. The error resulted in data not being captured by the budget system.
As of 10/22/2020, the ADE School Finance budget team began the manual process of downloading, correcting the internal property, and re-uploading the school district AFR files. The correction the ADE needs to make to the AFR file does not require the opening of the district’s Excel file. Therefore, no values contained within the AFR file will be changed.
The district’s original FY 2020 AFR submission date will remain the upload date for audit purposes and any publishing links to the FY 2020 AFR on the district website should still work.
Note: the ADE re-upload of the district’s AFR file will automatically be re-named by the system. The system format for the file name will be the district’s original FY 2020 AFR submission reference number and then .xls. The submitter name will be the ADE budget team member that makes the re-upload on behalf of the district.
At this time, it is not expected that any action will be required by the school district. However, should the ADE re-upload of the school district AFR file be rejected by the system, the district will be contacted by phone call or email with the next steps that includes the district re-upload of the corrected version of the AFR file via the Common Logon.
Please submit any questions or concerns to the budget team by email at [email protected]
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to get this issue resolved.
