The College Credit Pathway

The College Credit Pathway is an option for adults seeking to obtain their High School Equivalency (HSE) Diploma in Arizona. Effective July 1, 2018, adults can earn their HSE Diploma by demonstrating completion of 25 specific college credits along with passing the AZ Civics Test.

Ensure that you are eligible for the College Credit Pathway.

  1. Are you sixteen years of age or older?
  2. Are you not enrolled in secondary school or required to be enrolled in secondary school?
  3. Do you not have a high school diploma?

If you answered yes to all three questions, then you are eligible! Move on to Step 2!

Additionally, 16- and 17-year-old individuals interested in applying for an HSE Diploma through the CCP must also provide:

  • Official withdrawal from the last school attended.
  • Notarized and dated permission letter from a parent or guardian.

Check the requirements to ensure that you have met them all.

Requirements

  1. Earn 25 college credits in specific areas shown in table.
  2. Courses must be at the 100-course level or above.
  3. Passing grade letter of 'C' or above.
  4. Credits must be earned at or validated by an Arizona public state university or community college.
