We receive a high number of emails, therefore we are unable to respond immediately to your request. Our goal is to respond to all emails within 48 hours. During our peak season, May - September, this can take longer. If you need immediate assistance, please call our hotline at 602-542-4367.

Looks like you have a question about creating an account to apply online.  Please see the scenarios below to determine the next steps if you were unable to create an account.

Scenario 1: You received a message stating “You must have a DPS Fingerprint card on file before using this Portal.” 

  • If you hold a valid AZDPS IVP fingerprint clearance card, call DPS at (602) 223-2279 (Option 6) and verify: 
    • The correct Social Security Number is added to your IVP card; and
    • Arizona Teacher Certification is checked as a sponsor.  After the information is updated, your AZDPS IVP fingerprint card should be on file within24-48 hours.
  • If you do not hold a valid AZDPS IVP fingerprint clearance card, please see the Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) information page. 

 

Scenario 2: “Please make sure that you have entered the accurate last name, zip, and phone number which is on file with the Certification Unit.” Call the Arizona Department of Education, Certification Unit at (602) 542-4367 for assistance.

If you have an open application that is currently in process, administratively incomplete, or substantively incomplete, you may request a change of service one time.  Please note that we are not able to change a service if the certificate, endorsement, or approved area has already been issued, or if the application has closed.

To change your application request, please provide the following information: 

  1. The certificate, endorsement, or approved area that you originally applied for 
  2. A request to withdraw this application and use the fee towards a new service. 
  3. The new service (certificate, endorsement, or approved area) that you are now requesting.  
  4. The reason you are requesting the change.

For District or Charter School use only.

Duplicate certificates may not be printed through the AzEDCert portal. This service must be requested via mail or at the customer service counter. Name changes must also be requested via mail or at the customer service counter. 

  • Please print the Request for a Duplicate Copy of Certificate and mail it to the address on the form along with the $20 fee. 
  • Please print the Application to Change My Name and mail it to the address on the form with the appropriate documentation with the $20 fee. 
    • We do not accept cash.
  • Please print the Application to Change My Contact Information and mail it to the address on the form, there is no fee to update your contact information. 

 

If you have not received your certificate, please allow 5-10 days for it to arrive by mail from the issue date.

 

 

We are unable to accept transcripts via email from the applicant.

  • Electronic official transcripts must be submitted directly by your university/college through the clearinghouse to [email protected].
  • Paper official transcripts that are on security paper may be mailed to the Arizona Department of Education – Certification Unit, P.O. Box 6490, Phoenix, AZ 85005 by your university/college.

Please keep in mind the following processing times. 

  • During our non-peak times (October – April) the average processing time is 3-4 weeks once all official documents have been received.
  • During our peak times (May-September) the average processing time can be up to 6-8 weeks once all official documents have been received. 

If you have an out-of-state verification form or you need your Arizona Certification verified please submit the required form with this email.
