SB 1139 - Classroom Site Fund

  • Fri, May 14 2021  •
    • Budget Hot Topics

Note: The SB 1139 summary linked from this Hot Topic was revised on 3/21/2022 to clarify that there were no changes made to the compensation system on which a governing board is required to vote.

Over the past year, several changes have been applied to the Classroom Site Fund (CSF) resulting in expanded allowances and additional monies for the fund. Most notably, on March 18, 2021, Governor Ducey signed SB 1139 modifying distribution requirements for monies from the CSF.

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Arizona Department of Education is happy to announce that monies from the Classroom Site Fund may now be used toward guidance and psychological services, including school counselors, school psychologists, and school social workers.

You’ll find a full list of changes, eligible expenses, and guidance from the ADE Office of Policy & Government Relations and School Finance team in our new CSF Guidance and Summary linked below.
