What is the OIE Annual Summit?
Ignite innovation in supporting Native American students in Arizona at the 3rd annual OIE Annual Summit. At this event, the AZ Office of Indian Education unites educators, tribal education staff, parents, and other partners and organizations to foster collaboration in raising academic outcomes of Native American students. Join us in Phoenix to uncover new possibilities in embracing culture, community, and innovation in education!
Sessions:
Attendees will select from 20 breakout sessions and engage with educators, tribal staff, and parents to collaborate, learn, and grow together. The Culture Expo will return by popular demand! Includes special guests to be announced soon!

REGISTRATION
Thank you for your interest in attending the 2026 OIE Annual Summit! Registration is required to attend and is open to all educators, education administrators and programs, tribal leadership and tribal education staff, in addition to partners in education. Only full conference registration is available; there are no single-day or event registrations available.
Parent/Caregiver -- $250
Education Staff/Administrator -- $400
Tribal Leadership/Representative -- $400
Registration for the OIE Annual Summit must be completed through ADEConnect. Please click the dropdown menu below for registration instructions.
All attendees must create an account in ADEConnect to access the "ADE Professional Learning and Development" (APLD) section to complete registration.

2. Once you have completed Step 1, access the APLD section within the ADEConnect platform, find the course sections for "2026 OIE Annual Summit." Each registration type has its own section. |
Reminder: Participants with existing ADEConnect accounts are responsible for updating their profile, including a working email address. In your account, click "Edit Account" to update the appropriate fields, including email, accommodations, dietary requirements, or interpreter needs.
PAYMENT INFORMATION
Acceptable methods of payment include purchase orders, check, or credit card. If paying with a PO or check, an electronic copy is required during the registration process. Visa or MasterCard cards are accepted. Attention: Purchase orders sent directly to the AZ Department of Education does not complete registration. When submitting a purchase order, all participant names must be listed on the PO. IMPORTANT: Participant names on the PO must match the participants' account names they entered in ADEConnect.
*Immediately after registering with a PO, you will receive an email stating that your registration is "PENDING" verification of the purchase order or check. ADE will complete the verification process within 10 days. Once the verification process is complete, you will receive another email stating your registration is “CONFIRMED.” The confirmation email secures your spot for the conference.
BULK REGISTRATION
If you bulk-enroll participants, each individual must have an existing ADEConnect account. Please carefully check the email addresses when bulk-enrolling to ensure you are entering the correct email address for the correct individual.

HOTEL INFORMATION
Limited rooms available at the event block rate, book yours today! Recommended arrival day is Monday, September 7th. Event concludes at 2pm on Thursday, September 10th. Complete your event registration prior to booking a hotel room.
Room Rate/Night = $160 + taxes. The cutoff date is August 24, 2026. If rooms remain available after August 24th, reservation requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and subject to hotel room availability.

Details
- At check-in, a $100 hold on a credit card is required. If no credit card is available, an authorization form should be requested in advance. Please contact the hotel for more information.
- There is a cancellation fee of one night room and tax if a reservation is cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival.
- At this time, we do not have event block rates at other hotels. NOTE: This is not the casino hotel. To access Sheraton Grand, you continue west past the casino hotel. You will drive through the golf course and reach the Sheraton Grand entrance and parking lot. In late August, registered attendees will receive maps and check-in instructions.
Travel
The Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass is located within the Gila River Indian Community. It is about 11 miles south of the Phoenix Airport and 25 miles southwest of Phoenix, AZ. Complimentary self and conference center parking is available on site.
Weather
The average high temperature is around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. September marks the end of monsoon season, some isolated showers or thunderstorms may occur. The hotel and indoor meeting area temperatures vary. Layering with a sweater or jacket indoors is recommended.
