THOMAS R. GUSKEY

  Thomas R. Guskey, PhD, is a Professor Emeritus in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky. A graduate of the University of Chicago’s renowned Measurement, Evaluation, and Statistical Analysis (MESA) program, he began his career in education as a middle school teacher, served as an administrator in the Chicago Public Schools, and was the first Director of the Center for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning, a national educational research center. Dr. Guskey served on the Policy Research Team of the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future, and on the task force to develop the National Standards for Professional Development. He was named a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association and was awarded the Association’s prestigious Relating Research to Practice Award. He is the author/editor of 30 books and over 300 published articles and book chapters on educational assessment, program evaluation, and grading and reporting. ALISON SMITH

   Alison Smith is an accomplished author and a sought-after executive and leadership coach with a mission to help educators and leaders conquer burnout and build unshakable resilience. A former teacher in inner-city Phoenix, Alison understands the complex challenge of balancing personal well-being with the demands of supporting students—and she’s passionate about helping educators and leaders navigate that balance more effectively. She firmly believes that when we support the well-being of the adults in our schools, we create the foundation for student success. With over a decade of coaching experience, Alison has helped countless educators and leaders harness the power of small, meaningful acts of resilience to design thriving, purpose-driven lives.

Sid Bailey

 Sid Bailey has been a high school administrator in Arizona for over 40 years, including 11 years at the helm of Washington High School, a nationally recognized school chronicled as a highly effective school in a promotional series produced by the “Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development” (ASCD). He too had the honor of being the principal of another nationally recognized school. Sid has served at the District level having been in charge of athletics, student conduct, long term suspension and expulsion hearings, transportation, assistant principal development and more. He has been an Educational Consultant for many schools though out Arizona. Currently Sid is an Associate Superintendent over Effective Teachers and Leaders, Certification, School Safety, and Charter Schools at ADE.
