McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaisons
The McKinney-Vento Homelessness Assistance Act requires that local educational agencies, such as public school districts and public charter districts, designate an appropriate staff person as a McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison for homeless children and youths (42 U.S.C. §11432(g)(1)(J)(ii)). Each McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison is responsible for identifying, immediately enrolling, and support students experiencing homelessness to ensure they have a full and equal opportunity to succeed in school (42 U.S.C. §11432(g)(6)).
