The Transportation Routes submission window is now open.

Per A.R.S. § 15-922, districts must submit transportation route data within 12 days of their 100th day (or 200th day where applicable). Transportation Routes is available in the “Transportation and Vehicle Inventory” ADEConnect application until 04/01/2026. Vehicle Inventory will be available on 05/01/2026.

You’ve been invited to an online session: Understanding Non-Fundable Intervals

Beginning FY 2026, the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) implemented updates to how non-fundable intervals (NFI) are calculated in AzEDS. In this session, you will learn the criteria for an NFI, which is generated when a student has both an "absence threshold" and an "attendance block". We will also review the AzEDS Portal reports you can use to ensure data accuracy.

Effective 9/30/2025, the update has been applied to the AzEDS Portal Average Daily Membership Calculation Engine (ACE) system to display non-fundable intervals on the ADM15 report.

 These intervals will be applied to students that have met the threshold for excessive absences as well as having reported attendance blocks. For more information on non-fundable intervals please see Defining Excused Absences guideline posted here: /finance/school-finance-external-guidelines

Districts and charters should review their ADM15 reports to view any non-fundable intervals identified in their student data.

The School District Employee Report (SDER) Online Application is now open to accepting employee data. This application is accessible through ADE Connect. You must submit your SDER data by the end of the day on October 15, 2025.

Gifted ADM Not Generating for Sept. Payment

School Finance has identified a bug that is preventing GIFTED ADM from being generated. School Finance is aware of the issue and is currently working with AzEDS IT to resolve it as quickly as possible. Payment 3 will be affected, as a fix will not be implemented by the process deadline. School Finance will post a Hot Topic once the issue is corrected, and no further actions are required for School Districts and Charters. All affected funding will be included in a subsequent payment.

Reminder that the AzEDS Instructional Calendar must be submitted to the AzEDS Portal and be certified and free of Integrity errors for your district or charter to generate ADM.

If you encounter an integrity error and are unsure how to fix it, you can use the Calendar Integrity Reference Guide. This helpful guide explains how to correct each Calendar Integrity code listed on your INTEG35 report.

Please work with your Student Information System (SIS) vendor to upload the calendar to AzEDS.

The manual on Transportation and Vehicle Inventory has been updated and is now available on the School Finance webpage under School Finance Guidelines & Manuals. Transportation route and vehicle inventory data are used to calculate the Transportation Support Level (TSL) for districts.

In addition to the School Finance Manual, we have updated the “Transportation and Vehicle Inventory Application Manual”, which is a user guide on how to submit data in the Transportation and Vehicle Inventory application in ADEConnect.

The Charter Estimated Counts application opens for data submission on 05/31/2025. The deadline to submit Charter Estimated Counts is 07/01/2025. Charter Estimated Counts cannot be revised after 07/01/2025. This requirement does not apply to districts, it is specifically for Charter schools.

The first two payments of FY 2026 are based on Charter Estimated Counts. School Finance does NOT pay Charter Schools based on prior year AzEDS ADM. Beginning with Payment 3, payments will be based on FY 2026 AzEDS actual Average Daily Membership (ADM) data only.

 The FY 2026 API is available from 06/01/2025 to 07/15/2026. Instructional calendars and student data transactions may begin on 06/01/2025.
