My Certification Log In Help
Anyone accessing the My Certification application system (My Certification- Educator Portal) must complete the folowing two steps:
- Create a New ADE Connect Account or Sign-in to an existing ADE Connect account. If you need assistance, please see the ADE Connect area below.
- Complete the Identity Verification Process to associate any certificate records to your ADE Connect account. If you need assistance, please see the Identify Verification area below
Use the information below to review more information about completing the required steps.
ADE Connect Account
ADE Connect is a shared login system used by many ADE Applications. If you have previously accessed other Arizona Department of Education applications such as AzEDCert, ESA, APLD, or GeniusEMS, you likely already have an ADE account.

The issues below are commonly reported by educators who are having difficulties with the ADE Connect account process. If the following sections apply to you, please open the section for some commonly taken steps for resolution:
Issue
In the ADE Connect Account Self-Registartion tool, the followin gerror message appears when entering an email address:
This email is already associated to another user, or the user being added has an account with this email in pending status
Cause
This error indicates one of two different problems may be occuring:
- The Self-Registration form has been completed but the user has not verified their email address and created a password. (The user being added has an account with this email in pending status).
- The email address being entered already has an existing ADE Connect account. (This email is already associated to another user).
Resolution Steps
- Ensure that you are using a personal email address (not a school or work provided email address).
- Check your email for any email verification requests from ADE Notifications (including any spam or junk folders).
- Click the verification link from ADE Notifications and create a password.
- Attempt to log into ADE Connect at https://adeconnect.azed.gov/.
If you are still unable to create an ADE Connect account, please contact the ADE Connect Helpdesk using the information below.
Issue
The user has an existing ADE Connect account and is unable to sign in due to a forgot password or the user is unable to sign in after reseting the password.
Cause
The ADE Connect system takes 45-60 minutes to update with a new password once the password reset process has been completed.
Resolution Steps
- Using the Password Change Request tool (above) enter your email address for your ADE Connect Account
- In your email inbox locate and click the verification link sent by ADE Notifications.
- Enter a new password.
- Wait 60 minutes before attempting to sign in using the newly created password.
Issue
A page with an orange background displays the text "Signing In...." with a spinning graphic after entering your login information.
Cause
The error described occurs when the account being used to sign in does not exist in ADE Connect.
Resolution Steps
- Use the ADE Connect Self-Registration Link to begin the process of account creation.
- Ensure that you are using a personal email address (not a school or work provided email address).
- Check your email for any email verification requests from ADE Notifications (including any spam or junk folders).
- Click the verification link from ADE Notifications and create a password.
- Wait 15 minutes and then sign directly into the My Certification- Educator Portal.
Issue
The user is unable to find the My Certification- Educator Portal after signing into ADE Connect.
Cause
The user has navigated to the ADE Connect sign in page from any link other than https://mycert.azed.gov.
Resolution Steps
From Inside ADE Connect
- Select "View Applications" from the Home page or select "Applications" from the top navigation bar on any other page.
- Select "My Certification" from the list of Independent Applications.

Navigate Directly to My Certification
Identity Verification
The first time you enter the My Certification Application in ADE Connect, you will be prompted to provide some identity verification to connect your ADE Connect account to your existing educator information in the Certification system.
1. Enter your Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB).
- If the information entered matches existing educator information, you will be prompted for the secondary verification (below).
- If the information entered does not match any existing educator information in the certification system, you will be given an error message. Please review the “Educator is Not Found in the System” section (below).
2. Enter your Fingerprint Card Number (DO NOT use the IVP Application Number).
- An IVP Card number starts with a year followed by a number (i.e. 2024A)
- An IVP Application number starts with the letters: IVP (i.e. (IVP...)
Issue
One of the following error messages is displayed after enter your SSN and Date of Birth:
- We weren't able to find an educator record with the details that you provided.
- There is not enough information to validate your account at this time.
Cause
The Arizona Department of Education has not received reocrs of your Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card from DPS.
Resolution Steps
- If your IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card was issued today, please allow 24 hours from the issuance of your IVP Card and try again.
- If your IVP Card has been valid for more than 24 hours, and you are still not in the system, you will need to contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279 to have your IVP Card information sent over to the Department of Education.
- When you contact DPS, please confirm the following:
- You hold a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Your SSN and Date of Birth are correct in the DPS system.
- DPS has checked the box for “State Board of Education - Teacher Certification or Other” to share the information with ADE.
- If you have called DPS and verified the information above and are still unable to complete the identity verification after 24 hours, please call the ADE Certification Unit at 602-542-4367 to review your education information in the certification system.
Issue
The following error message is displayed after entering your Fingerprint Card Number:
- We weren't able to find an educator record with the details that you provided.
Cause
The user has entered an IVP number or Application number OR the number entered does not match the records in the ADE system.
Resolution Steps
- Ensure that you are entering the Fingerprint Card Number.
- The Fingerprint Card Number starts with the year the card was issued followed by a letter followed by 6 digits (i.e. 2025A123456).
- The Application Number starts with the letters IVP and will not allow the Identity verification to proceed.
- If you do not know your Fingerprint Card Number or your IVP fingerprint card has not yet been issued, please contact the Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279.
- If you continue to have issues after entering the correct Fingerprint Card Number please call the Certification Unit at 602-542-4367.
Issue
The Identity Verification Tool asks for the Last Name, Zip Code, and Phone Number on file with ADE instead of the IVP Card Number.
Cause
The Arizona Department of Education does not have a valid Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance CARD on file OR the IVP Card information in the certification system has expired.
Resolution Steps
- Enter your last name, phone number, and zip code for additional verification, and please call DPS (623-223-2279) to update your IVP card.
- If the information entered does not match the information in the certification system, you will be given an error message. Please try using any previous zip code or phone numbers provided to ADE.
- If you are unable to verify the information on file, you will need to have your valid IVP fingerprint card reported to ADE.
- Please contact the Arizona Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279 to have your IVP Card information sent over to the Department of Education.
- When you contact DPS, please confirm the following:
- You hold a valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Your SSN and Date of Birth are correct in the DPS system.
- DPS has checked the box for “State Board of Education - Teacher Certification or Other” to share the information with ADE.
- If you have called DPS and verified the information above and are still unable to complete the identity verification after 24 hours, please call the ADE Certification Unit at 602-542-4367 to review your education information in the certification system.
