SEI Endorsement

All Public School teachers working with English learners delivering required minutes of the SEI models are required to have an ESL, BLE, or SEI Endorsement. (AZ Board Rule, 7 A.A.C. 2.L)

Course Rationale:

This 45 Hour SEI Endorsement Completion course is designed to enable classroom teachers, administrators, and other certified personnel to provide understand the foundations of English Language Development (ELD) instruction and differentiated instruction for students whose native language is other than English.

By the end of the course, participants will learn English Language Development (ELD), related classroom strategies and skills, as well as legal and historical background information on the SEI Program Model. Teachers will master these concepts by exploring research articles, participating in discussion forums, viewing streaming videos, and completing activities incorporating ELD strategies to address the English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS).

Successful completion of this course fulfills the requirements for the SEI Endorsement. Participantes will need to use this certificate to have the SEI Endorsement to their teaching certificate (if a teaching certificate is held).
