Registration is open for Arizona's 2024 IDEA Conference
For a limited time Arizona's 2024 IDEA Conference Professional Registration 2—active from August 1, 2024, and will remain open until the section is full or until August 9. Please log into the Arizona Professional Learning & Development (APLD) application. Once you are logged in, search for the section called 2024 IDEA Conference Professional Registration 2.

The conference room block rate for Arizona’s 2024 IDEA Conference is $229/night (not including taxes) for the nights of the conference (Tuesday, September 3, 2024–Thursday, September 5, 2024, rooms are not available Friday, September 6, 2024). Make your reservation at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort’s conference website or call the Reservations Center at 1-888-236-2427. The last day to book at the conference rate is August 14, 2024.
The conference room block rate for Arizona’s 2024 IDEA Conference is $229/night (not including taxes), which exceeds the state rate of $156/night. This price may mean that your organization will not reimburse the full amount of your lodging expenses unless you request an exception prior to the conference. Participants are encouraged to clarify any lodging reimbursement policies with their respective employer.
Typically, when rooms at a conference hotel are contracted at a higher rate than the State allowable nightly rate, supplemental documentation may be necessary to request an exception. Please use this document to support an exception.

Professional Registration: Professional registration for the 2024 IDEA Conference will be available from May through July 31, 2024, and costs $575 per participant. Registration and payment for professional registrants must be completed in one of the following sections in the Arizona Professional Learning & Development (APLD) application:

Once the verification process is complete, you will receive another email stating that your registration is “CONFIRMED.” The confirmation email secures your spot for the conference.
Save My Seat: Save My Seat registration should be used by those districts and agencies that will not be able to create purchase orders (POs) until after July 1, 2024, and/or do not have each learner's name and unique email address at the time of registration. The cost per participant is $575. Please submit your Save My Seat request before the form closes on June 30, 2024. Once the form closes, additional instructions will be emailed to complete registration and payment for each participant. Please refrain from using the professional registration sections in APLD to register and pay for Save My Seat individuals, as doing so can disrupt and delay processing these individuals.
Vendors/Exhibitors must apply for a booth at the conference by June 2, 2024. A limited number of in-person tables will be available. Space is not guaranteed, and table selections will be based on agency priority. Booth fees are either $750 without electricity or $1000 with electricity and cover the attendance of two (2) booth staff, including meals.
Once applications have been reviewed, a supplemental form will be due by June 30, 2024, for those vendors/exhibitors who have been accepted. Finally, instructions for submitting payment by July 31, 2024, through the Arizona Professional Learning & Development (APLD) application, will be emailed to the designated contact person.
Presenters were selected through the Call For Papers application, which closed March 31, 2024. The primary contact for the selected presentations will be emailed instructions to finalize registration and payment, due by July 31, 2024, through the Arizona Professional Learning & Development (APLD) application. Fees vary based on each presenter’s attendance and participation on each conference day and range from free to $350.
Payment must be submitted by credit card, check, purchase order, or interagency transfer (Internal Exchange Transaction or IET) through the Arizona Professional Learning & Development (APLD) Application.
Please note: Immediately after submitting payment in APLD, you will receive an email stating that your registration is "PENDING" verification of the purchase order or check. Once the verification process is complete, you will receive another email stating that your registration is “CONFIRMED.” The confirmation email secures your spot for the conference.

If you are directed to a screen with “Registration” in large blue letters, followed by “Already Have an Account?” located at the center of the screen, this is in relation to registration for your ADE Connect account. You do have to register for an ADEConnect account to access the Arizona Professional Learning & Development (APLD) application.
If, upon registering through this screen, you receive a message that you are already registered, then you need to select the “Already Have an Account?” option to continue. Please note that this message does not mean you are already registered for the conference; it means you have already registered your ADE Connect account. Please log in using your credentials.

Registration must match the PO details. If anything is missing Accounting will reject the registration and the participant(s) will need to re-register for the event. If you do not have the names of the individuals attending, please submit a Save My Seat request for those names.
Yes, school/agency staff can complete bulk registration. Each registered participant must have a unique email and an ADEConnect account. Use the Bulk Nominate feature in APLD. See the APLD Learner Guide for detailed steps.
Before registering for the conference, please update your APLD Learner Profile to ensure that accommodation requests are included in all future APLD course registrations. To update your APLD Learner Profile, visit the APLD website and log into your account. On your Learner Dashboard, click Edit Account, respond to the Special Accommodations and Dietary Requirements questions, and then click Save. They would both be authorized for the same amount (room nights + incidentals); the debit card would be charged, whereas the credit card would only be approved. If there were no charges beyond the authorization, the funds on the debit card would take longer to return to the card than the credit card.

Annually, the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) is required to report special education (SPED) data to the federal government. The October 1 Data Collection (ODC) is part of that process and is required by all Public Education Agencies (PEAs).
